Re: [Xen-users] Running VM on SAN - scalability issue?

Hi there,

basically it depends on the services running on the VMs and their performance requirements. The more performance is required the more read & write performance should be provided by the SAN. One option is using single LUNs for every VM. Those LUNs should be created on different
discs.
Some SANs allow intermix of SATA, SAS and FC discs. You can raise the disc performance with
SAS and FC discs.

Marcel

If I plan to store the all the VM in SAN (lot of SATA disks, connected
via multi port Gigabit ethernet using ISCSI), are there any advice on
such setup so the system is as scalable as possible?

Thanks.
