May be my question is a stupid. But I can't get working 64 bit guest OS. I'm using debian 5.0.1 with xen-3.4.0 (it was compiled manually today to get FreeBSD guest OS working) xen:~# uname -a Linux xen 2.6.18.8-xen #1 SMP Wed May 27 17:30:09 IRKST 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux xen:~# xm info host : xen release : 2.6.18.8-xen version : #1 SMP Wed May 27 17:30:09 IRKST 2009 machine : x86_64 nr_cpus : 8 nr_nodes : 1 cores_per_socket : 4 threads_per_core : 1 cpu_mhz : 2333 hw_caps : bfebfbff:20100800:00000000:00000140:000ce3bd:00000000:00000001:00000000 virt_caps : hvm total_memory : 16382 free_memory : 15938 node_to_cpu : node0:0-7 node_to_memory : node0:15938 xen_major : 3 xen_minor : 4 xen_extra : .0 xen_caps : xen-3.0-x86_64 xen-3.0-x86_32p hvm-3.0-x86_32 hvm-3.0-x86_32p hvm-3.0-x86_64 xen_scheduler : credit xen_pagesize : 4096 platform_params : virt_start=0xffff800000000000 xen_changeset : unavailable cc_compiler : gcc version 4.3.2 (Debian 4.3.2-1.1) cc_compile_by : root cc_compile_domain : ispsystem.net cc_compile_date : Wed May 27 18:42:46 IRKST 2009 xend_config_format : 4 xen:~# zcat /boot/xen-3.4.0.gz | file - /dev/stdin: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), statically linked, stripped xen:~# file /boot/xen-syms-3.4.0 /boot/xen-syms-3.4.0: ELF 64-bit LSB executable, x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), statically linked, not stripped I have tried to use following configuration for my guest os: kernel = "/usr/lib64/xen/boot/hvmloader" builder='hvm' memory = 1024 name = "freebsd" vcpus=1 pae=0 acpi=1 apic=1 arch='test' vif = [ 'bridge=eth0' ] disk = [ 'file:/xen/image/freebsd.img,hda,w', 'file:/xen/iso/7.2-RELEASE-amd64-bootonly.iso,hdb:cdrom,r' ] on_poweroff = 'destroy' on_reboot = 'restart' on_crash = 'restart' device_model = '/usr/lib64/xen/bin/qemu-dm' boot='cd' sdl=0 vnc=1 vncviewer=1 vncdisplay=3 vncunused=0 vncpasswd='12345' In VNC console I see: CPU doesn't support long mode I have got same result with debian x86_64 as guest os.
