Thanks for the information.

I just checked their site.
GlusterFS sounds more like enterprise solution than a web 2.0 solution.

We are building a SAAS based web utility hireplug.com (not live yet!) which will help connect recruiters world-wide and exchange resumes etc.

LiveJournal.com(Alexa #76) also uses MogileFS.

There exist MogileFS-Clients for Java/Ruby and we are going to use that one.

If you like the looks of MogileFS, I recommend having a look at GlusterFS.  Gluster is more of a real filesystem (POSIX and such) but does the some replication and auto-consistency things that may be of interest.  It's then all exposed to clients via FUSE, no special APIs required.
