I use Google Chrome OS VM with DHCP. When I was compiling Google
Chrome OS from source and creating the VMware image, I found that the
network configuration file /etc/network/interfaces (Ubuntu/Debian
style) contains only loopback (lo) interface configuration entries. If
you want static IP address configuration, I think you need to define
it during build/compile time.

Otherwise, after building and image generation, you need to get into a
virtual terminal, su to root, and edit the network configuration
manually.
