I also succeed with Ubuntu karmic server 9.10
Using 3GB RAM, I can start 8 PV domU guests, using only 20 dom0 cpu seconds. 
Furthermore, the domU array can stop(shutdown) and start again without any 
errors or problems without rebooting dom0. I tried this
on Centos 5.4 with Xen 3.4.2 and the restarts were unreliable.
