Thanks for the link, Todd, though I'm well aware how to take advantage of a
scripted backup; I have, in fact, written my own script which is in
production use at a a few customers, both XS- and XCP-based.

I would like to know if it's possible to replace vm-snapshot with
vm-checkpoint. My tests suggest "no." The reason I ask is I would dearly
love to find a substitute for vm-snapshot-with quiesce; as of XS 5.6 it
plainly refuses to work.

It appears xen-api is the proper place for me to ask for assistance in this
regard, so I'll do just that.
