What kind of system are you running xen on > ? I have 2 machines. One is 64 bit VT and another is non VT 64 bit. Both are Ubuntu desktops. I am trying to compile Xen-4.0.1 and each time pull git clone from JF's tree. In any of the systems things did not worked.I am able to boot without hypervisor but not with hypervisor. I.e. pv-ops Dom0 kernel 2.6.32.27 I am able to boot. But if I do with Xen then things do not work. I tried adding noreboot option in grub2 as suggested by some one but it did not helped. My problem is it is rebooting so frequently that I am not able to even note down the error message. I am not clear if I can use with some older version i.e. Xen-3.0 but then what kernel do I need for that? I am not sure but what I observe is things keep randomly changing when it comes to Xen if some thing worked for some one it is not necessary that your experienced sys admin would be able to use it though he might be an expert of Linux but he may fail 100% to boot with Xen. Looked through wiki/google/books etc etc. I feel some other solutions are better when it comes to Xen.I tried KVM and happily without any problem (on the VT machine in question) was able to use things absolutely flawless work. But when it comes to Xen you need to go through wiki docs ,compile kernel and God only help you. Rather than getting your business application up and running you will struggle through it.Given the fact I do not have such constraints and I am doing it for my understanding. But I really find it bizarre when it comes to Xen be it wiki or the software itself.I do not have a good time with Xen. -- Regards Abhi _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
