[Xen-users] changing PVM NIC driver to HVM

All,

using a Linux HVM distro (SLES11SP1) in order to be able to easily boot
from CD etcetera.
Works dandy but in order to have a clean shutdown with xm list, the PVM
rpm had to be installed. As of that moment xm restores do not work
anymore. After the restore the domU remains frozen and needs to be
destroyed and rebooted. Logfiles show nothing special.

Disabling (not activating at boot) the network card fixes this. I
changed the card back to HVM by putting "e1000" as model, and after
configuring it in yast, the HVM card is set right and xm restores works.
After rebooting, it seems the IP card has moved to the second available
card, showing vif as identifier. As of then xm restore fails again. So
it does not seem to retain the (helping) HVM situation.
Removing the xen_vnif module breaks the network al together.

How should I go about this?

Thx!

Bart
