[Xen-users] Changing the IP and Mac address of a VIF from dom0

Hi all,

i asked this question a while ago and it relates to :

http://lists.xen.org/archives/html/xen-devel/2011-01/msg01427.html
http://lists.xen.org/archives/html/xen-devel/2012-10/msg01778.html

I have patched my unbuntu 12.04 kernel (3.2.0-33-generic) xen-netback module as described in the post such that i can now change the mac address and vif:

vif9.0    Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr 00:16:3e:ff:ff:fe
          inet addr:10.0.1.1  Bcast:10.0.1.255  Mask:255.255.255.0
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST  MTU:1500  Metric:1
          RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:32
          RX bytes:0 (0.0 B)  TX bytes:0 (0.0 B)

However, after about a minute the IP and MAC revert the their default values. This is most annoying, and any ideas or help would be amazing!

Thanks

Paul
