Your working VMWare setup is Linux? On the same machine? Same switch?

Working setup is:

- ESX6.1
- CentOS 6 on haproxy and tomcat
- All on same box
- On same switch as the Xen machines
 
Do you have similar symptoms when you transfer with TCP using other means (eg. scp some file from client to server)? Or is it just your HTTP connection?

Only see it with HTTP POSTs.

Also - further testing - the size of the post needs to be around 2000 bytes.  When it fails, the POST is truncated at 1250-1450 bytes.
