Did you mean I had to delete that symlink? 
After I removed 'boot/xen.gz', one of messages was appreciated: 

$ sudo rm /boot/xen.gz

$ sudo update-grub
Generating grub.cfg ...
Found linux image: /boot/vmlinuz-3.2.0-23-generic
Found initrd image: /boot/initrd.img-3.2.0-23-generic
dpkg: warning: version 'syms-4.3-unstable' has bad syntax: version number does not start with digit

Found initrd image: /boot/initrd.img-3.2.0-23-generic
Found linux image: /boot/vmlinuz-3.2.0-23-generic
Found initrd image: /boot/initrd.img-3.2.0-23-generic
Found linux image: /boot/vmlinuz-3.2.0-23-generic
Found initrd image: /boot/initrd.img-3.2.0-23-generic

However, it still indicate warning about 'syms-4.3-unstable'
When looking at files at /boot/ diectory, there is no such file. 
 
 Here is my files at /boot/.
$ ls -al /boot

How can I find this file and fix the problem?
