[Xen-users] Xen stops booting at "SATA Link down (SStatus 0 SControl 300)"

I'm trying to set up Xen 4.1 on Ubuntu 12.04 server (x64) and when booting the dom0 it fails while apparently attempting to initialize the SATA devices. It does find one device (ata3) but then just halts and hangs apparently forever. Any suggestions as to what could be causing this, or whether upgrading to 13.04/Xen 4.2 might fix the issue?
