After doing a clean install of centos 6.4, I followed the directions here:

http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Xen/Xen4QuickStart

Looks like the kernel is right:

uname -r
3.4.61-9.el6.centos.alt.x86_64

When I try xm info:

Error: Unable to connect to xend: No such file or directory. Is xend running

I tried to start xend:

/etc/init.d/xend start

That give no output. /proc/xen does not exist.

One thing I did a differently from the web page is that I chose "basic server"
instead of
"minimal". Would that make a difference?

Any ides?

Thanks,

        Andy
