this actually made the trick !

i found out how to disable MSI/MSI-X in the linux kernel here

so modifying my domU conf file with the following line made it work !

extra="pci=nomsi iommu=soft"

But i'm thinking there is an issue with pcifront, pciback or the xen kernel regarding the MSI/MSIX mappings in a PV host...
