I also added myself as a sufferer. I used the information here -> 
http://seb.so/vnc-from-boot-without-logging-in-ubuntu-lubuntu-xubuntu-and-mint-lmde/
 to enable lightdm with VNC. This workaround has you VNC'ing to the VM, rather 
than using built-in VNC in Xen. Having said that. This was actually the end 
goal for me, anyway and it works very well.
