Perhaps because of the limited resource? I experienced similar situation as I use a old desktop to run Xen 4.1 several years ago. Dom0 died occasionally as the resource was tight so no logs were found either.

No messages appears in console log, even in the hypervisor.log
The tests were did under xen versions 4.4.4, 4.6.1, 4.6.3 and 4.7
The xen.gz line command contains loglvl=all guest_loglvl=all parameters.
I also looked for any kind of limitation constant (like "50") in the
source files with no success.
I'm running in a dual Xeon X5660 (12 cores / 24 HT) and 64 GBytes RAM.
Each VM consumes less the 400 MB of RAM.
Any ideas?
