Re: VGA console
Dear Xen Users,
I am trying to install Xen with Ubuntu and Debian with different methods. I tried to use the packages from the package manager, I also compiled Xen natively from source, but
the final result is always the same. There are no errors in Xen log - everything seems fine. Xen stops finally with the message: “(XEN) Xen is relinquishing VGA console.” System pauses for a second, then screen is filled in black colour, starting from the
top of the screen all the way down to the bottom line. After that, nothing happens, and I’m left with a blank screen and nothing works. Do you know anything about this issue? Is it possible that my hardware setup is old, or something cannot work well? I am
using a Lenovo T450 laptop actually if it helps. I also tried out to connect to a second monitor with a VGA cable, I tried to use legacy boot option, use the external screen during the boot, but nothing happens. Did anybody have similar experience?
If there's a "text boot" option, that might be helpful; alternately look for options like 'quiet' or anything which sets the mode to a different VGA mode and remove that from your grub config.
