Re: [Minios-devel] UNIKRAFT Release process

Hi Rene,

we are currently working on establishing a more stable scheme with a CI. We do not have a stable release model yet but we are also welcoming suggestions. So far, releases were done manually based on completed feature lists. In fact, the last one is a while ago. Currently, we are integrating new patches to the 'staging' branch. Our idea is that 'master' is going to follow-up as soon as we have completed tests the latest changes. For releases we are using tags.

For trying out Unikraft we are currently kindly asking to use the staging branch since it includes the latest features.

Thanks a lot,

Simon

Hi all!

I was reading about the Release Process of Xen Project, which is very well
defined concerning release cycles, 2 months freeze time, RC's, etc. I would
like to understand better the Release process of Unikraft. Official
documentation just pointed out:

"Unikraft uses the `staging` and `master` branch principle"

But I would like to know if there is also such cycles/freeze times and
how the decision about a new release is taken? Could you kindly provide this
clarification?

Thanks in advance,

Kind Regards,
