quite possibly - i recall at one point with the openflow controller stuff that 
i tested it running the mirage openflow controller on osx, controlling 
openvswitch switches running on linux inside virtualbox on the same host. iirc 
there were some magic osx runes to get this to work, but it did, eventually. i 
have notes somewhere if useful?
