All right, I have figured out the causes and fixed it in the `Netif` module. Now I am able to ping the Mirage instance running inside the FreeBSD kernel. I have just pushed the code to my GitHub repository [1], albeit I still have to find a "double free()" bug somewhere around the garbage collector... [1] https://github.com/pgj/mirage-platform
