Manual control is useful for setting up development networks (as Massoud is doing for example). ÂBut most importantly, it gives us a homogenous interface between Xen and Unix environments. ÂIt would also help with deterministic test cases (if things like Mac, IP and ARP entries are all settable from the mirage frontend).
