I went on a rampage of git cloning and installing and wgetâing all sorts of 
modules, finally downloading source of lwt then running:

opam reinstall ocamlfind camlp4

then in the lwt directory
ocaml setup.ml -configure

then 
opam install mirage

it seems to have moved on from that error.

sorry thatâs not much help to those who come after me but getting ocaml and 
opam installed and configured feels a built like a walk through Mirkwood at the 
moment - "donât leave the pathâ but you have to, which leads to adventure.
