I think this comes down to familiarity and that use "virtualization" as 
an adjective, which just sounds strange (at least to me). If you look at 
"KVM/VMWare/Xen Project virtualization", they all just sound as strange. 
Whereas ""KVM/VMWare/Xen Project virtualization software" sounds better
How about I change it to "XXX has been using Xen Project virtualization 
software since 2006".
In any case, I think we ought to have a go at the TM best practice 
document again and pick out the phrases that sound OK and remove the 
ones that sound bad
