And they all ship with libvirt 1.2.16. No. That project is a development project for virtualization-related packages. It contains the latest and greatest packages of corresponding upstream projects. Packages from there may be submitted to products like openSUSE13.2, SLES12, etc, but that is usually only done during the development cycle of the product. Once released, products typically don't get new package versions, only bug fix updates. But, as you noticed, we do build the latest and greatest for most of the SUSE products. Users can easily add the Virtualization repository to their software management stack and install the latest packages from there. Note that SLES12 SP1 is now in development and currently tracks the Virtualization project. As the dev window closes, libvirt, Xen, etc will be branched and enter maintenance. Looking at schedules, that would be Xen 4.5.1 (4.6 is too late) and libvirt 1.3.x (not sure of the libvirt version due to monthly libvirt release cycle). I can certainly point this out. Does this mean that these packages are automatically installed when you get the latest set of RPMs? No. Update repositories of the various products would only get bug fixes. As noted above, users must add the Virtualization repository to their software management stack and get the newest packages from there. It's common practice among openSUSE users, but not wise for SLES users that also buy support contracts :-).
