* Comtrol is working
* Top 6 sets of servers are all connected and set up
* Still waiting for MSI
* Hopefully by the end of today or tomorrow
ACTION: Ian will try and find an alternative and MSI
ACTION: Paul will send pictures of set-up with better camera
* Made a decision to use shorter cabling, instead of longer cabling to ensure that there is not too much âcable saladâ
* Cables are not run in wire management, but to use velcro bands to allow for easy accessability
Ian: asked whether the cables are labelled
Paul: cables are now labelled to avoid any cross-wire issues in future
= Ian has a list of HW questions to verify =
* Serial cables between PDU and switch is waiting for cabling
Correct
* Are the ARM installation instructions correct? Should we ship the ARM box?
Correct. ~ Yes ship the box
* Ian : ship ARM servers to 42 East Main Street to Georgeâs attention (as per address in last email)
Correct
George: may take a week +1-2 days extra due to snow
= Updates SW =
Don:
* 2 main servers on VLAN and correctly set up
Correct

Mostly set up.
* Ian: do you want me to review it? Ready for review now?
Yes it is.
ACTION: Don to put names and files and rules will be sent to Ian in email
Don: All VMs are created
Don: Replicated the disks from Newcastle to Gateshead
* Ian: All running PV now
Correct
Don: Can talk via serial ports to VMs
Don: Set up kill scripts for serial servers (if we find this necessary in a crisis)
Don: restarted SSH deamons to use port 42, firewall routes to ssh servers
Don: web port piped to WHS machine
Don: Infrastructure machine is up connecting to the test network
Don: All machines are statically IPâed
Don: DNS server is up, but there are a couple of extra config steps, which may be needed
ACTION: Don & Ian will discuss best way to do this via IRC or mail
Ian: Do we have a table or spreadsheet with all MAC addresses?
No
ACTION: Don to create a table of MAC addresses
Ian: Suggests to avoid NFS and to use DHCP to
Ian: Is the database working?
Don: Installed, but have not created users etc. except Ian, Don S, Don K, George
Ian: probably best if I do this
ACTION: Ian will negotiate on IRC re further software set-up
after the static IP addresses are set up in the DNS (for the test boxes)
Don: still has to install TP and the other infrastructure machines
Ian: Want a local NTP server on the local infrastructure machines and have everything slaving off the NTP server
Ian: can you let me know when you have the static IP addresses and NTP server set up?
ACK
= Loose ends =
* Machine with MSI image
* Cabling
Ian: will carry on with the rest of the set-up until the MSI issue is fixed
Paul: suspects that the board is a workstation board instead of a server board, which may be the root of the issue
What are we going to do if we canât resolve the issue
George: suggested to get a new mother board to fit the new chips
Ian: AMD was keen on this particular chipset
Agreement: set a deadline â end of Feb â by which we come up with a plan B, if this issue canât be resolved. Obviously this needs to be approved by the whole WG.
