Ian: What's the state / blocking us?
Yogesh: No access to NIC port. Only fibre access.
Yogesh: Cavium provided a fibre cable and transceivers fixed to the cables at both ends (this is not normal)
Yogesh: Normally the transceivers tend to go bad before the cables go bad, which is why they tend to be separate
Yogesh: to investigate and order correct transceivers and fibre cables
Cost: $400 plus fibre cables (deploy backup while waiting for extra cable to come in)
ACTION: Yogesh to get quote and Lars to approve
ACTION: list strange things with ThunderX boxes, such that this can be communicated to Cavium

Issue 1 is with the rocket port card, where we can only leverage the first 16 ports
Currently debugging the issue
We also raised tickets with comtrol.com/rocketport
Checked cables: these are fine; there could be something defective with the card or a driver issue
Ian: asked whether these are the same card as the ones we use with newcastle / gateshead

Waiting for exact pin-out from ticket with HP. The HP server seems to have an unusual pin-out
