Re: [win-pv-devel] Network card speed

‘Suitable environment’ here means you have a network/nic/cpu capable of coping with >1GB speed

The speed reported by the PV drivers is entirely arbitrary and unrelated to the performance you will get – and you can measure the actual performance you get with a tool such as netperf.

Sorry for the late following.

What do you mean by "suitable environment" ?
The only thing I did is switching from gplpv to winpv. The hardware environment didn't change.

The reported speed is a constant that the GPLPV drivers define at 10GBit/s, and the WinPV 8.2 use 1GBit/s.

Actual speeds should not be limited by this value (I.e. you will be able to get > 1GBit/s with WinPV 8.2 with a suitable environment).

Subject: [win-pv-devel] Network card speed

Hello,

Just a quick question on the network card drivers in win-pv 8.2

With gplpv my HVMs  connect to network at 10Gbits/s
With win-pv 8.2 it's only 1Gbits/s.

Is this normal behavior or did I miss something somewhere?

Thank for your work.
