http://bugzilla.xensource.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1453 Summary: [ACPI] On some x86_64 platform, `echo mem > /sys/power/state` can not trigger Dom0 S3 until using Ctrl^C to terminate the command. Product: Xen Version: unstable Platform: Other OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P1 Component: Hypervisor AssignedTo: xen-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ReportedBy: haicheng.li@xxxxxxxxx Xen changeset info: xen-changeset: 19534:120d3c67951b dom0-changeset: 861:366c31f3ab4b ioemu git: commit 2ed2ee1704a4ef956ecc61848c84d12aaa4419d5 Author: Ian Jackson <ian.jackson@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Fri Apr 3 16:17:22 2009 +0100 On some platform, with ia32e xen, echo mem into /sys/power/state can not make system into S3. We need to Ctrl^C or terminate the echo process, then system will enter S3. On the same machine, PAE Xen can do Dom0 S3 without any issue. Reproduce steps: Run following script in dom0: #!/bin/sh set -x time=5 i=0 while [ $i -lt $time ]; do # For kernel beyond 2.6.22 #echo 0 > /sys/class/rtc/rtc0/wakealarm #echo `date '+%s' -d '+ 20 sec'` > /sys/class/rtc/rtc0/wakealarm # Another syntax #echo +20 > /sys/class/rtc/rtc0/wakealarm # For kernel below 2.6.22 echo +0000-00-00 00:00:25 > /proc/acpi/alarm echo mem > /sys/power/state # Some machine may need vtetool to resume video display #vbetool post sync echo $i > /tmp/S3_log sync ((i=i+1)) done -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.xensource.com/bugzilla/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee. _______________________________________________ Xen-bugs mailing list Xen-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://lists.xensource.com/xen-bugs
