[Xen-devel] Short demo CD image

Hi,

While investigating why the Xen 1.2 Demo CD won't boot on a particular
laptop, I noticed the download image appears to be truncated. "isoinfo
-d -i xendemo-1.2.iso" reports:

Logical block size is: 2048
Volume size is: 294080

That would suggest the image size should be 294080 * 2048 = 602275840
bytes. However I only have 292376 * 2048 = 598786048 bytes. The web
server directory listing agrees with this short value:

xendemo-1.2.iso 21-Feb-2004 10:42 574M

To confirm real files are affected, I checked the listing from "isoinfo
-l -R -i xendemo-1.2.iso", which reports that
/share/zoneinfo/Europe/Belfast is at block 292376. Sure enough, the
file Athens is readable but Belfast gives an error when the image is
mounted using loop back. Note that because I burned this image to CD
with padding a few files including Belfast are actually readable from
the CD, but they just contain zeroes. In both cases Zurich is
unreadable.

Presumably none of these missing files are crucial or somebody would
have noticed sooner. However I thought I should report this just in
case somebody is suffering from these read errors. Perhaps the full
image exists somewhere but wasn't properly uploaded?

Cheers,

Sean.
