Sure, if you prefer that.  I actually like "new", but the grep issue is
real.  I'll redo the patch.

I wanted to use talloc
( http://samba.org/ftp/unpacked/junkcode/talloc/ ) but there simply
isn't enough dynamic allocation to make it worthwhile...
