Re: [Xen-devel] [PATCH] add cramfs support to domU kernels

This reminds me a side problem I experienced.

x235:/tmp/xen-unstable.hg/linux-2.6-xen-sparse/arch/xen/configs # grep CONFIG_REISERFS_FS=y *
xen0_defconfig_x86_32:CONFIG_REISERFS_FS=y
xen0_defconfig_x86_64:CONFIG_REISERFS_FS=y
xenU_defconfig_x86_32:CONFIG_REISERFS_FS=y

x235:/tmp/xen-unstable.hg/linux-2.6-xen-sparse/arch/xen/configs # grep REISERFS xenU_defconfig_x86_64
CONFIG_REISERFS_FS=m

REISERFS has been turned on by default on all the config files except the one for xenU on x86_64. Any particular reason for not turning it on for xenU on x86_64? This sometimes causes problems when booting domU with REISERFS as domU root fs. I have to build an initrd for it.

Thanks,
Li

To clarify further - you don't need to be root to make a cramfs initrd because
you don't need to loopback mount anything.  This makes it rather more
convenient for developers who don't have root on their machines.
