A crude way to achieve it can be: xc.domain_pincpu(self.domid, 0, (0 - (0x80000000 >> (31 - cpu)))) It gives this warning while starting xend. /usr/lib/python/xen/xend/XendDomainInfo.py:1093: FutureWarning: hex/oct constants > sys.maxint will return positive values in Python 2.4 and up xc.domain_pincpu(self.domid, 0, (0 - (0x80000000 >> (31 - cpu)))) But it is harmless, and achives the purpose. From the warning seems like python 2.4 onwards should not have this issue. This code is running on python version 2.3.4-11. [root@lvt3 ~]# xm create cpu=0 -n Using config file "/etc/xen/xmdefconfig". (vm (name ExampleVMXDomain) (memory 128) (ssidref 0) (cpu 0) (image (vmx (kernel /usr/lib/xen/boot/vmxloader) (vcpus 1) (device_model /usr/lib/xen/bin/qemu-dm) (vcpus 1) (boot c) (vnc 1) (vncviewer 1) ) ) (device (vbd (uname file:/var/images/min-el3-i386.img) (dev ioemu:hda) (mode w)) ) (device (vif (mac aa:00:00:2e:97:73))) ) [root@lvt3 ~]# xm create cpu=31 -n Using config file "/etc/xen/xmdefconfig".
