A long time ago, this was discussed on the forum (like May/June 2005
sort of time). 

As far as I'm aware, the plan is to merge/integrate the hvm tree into
the main tree at some point, as XenSource has a plan to support both AMD
and Intel processor solutions. When this will happen, and what the
acceptance criteria(s) involved are, I don't know...
