I am using FC3's gcc 3.4.2 as well.  We also see this problem with
SLES9 SP2's gcc 4.0.2.  However, prior to the above changeset, we
did not have any problem with starting HVM domains in 32-bit at all.
Maybe this particular changeset was not compiled correctly by some
gcc version ?

We would expect it to work with those versions of gcc. If it doesn't, we welcome patches. :-)
