Update (hopefully final.) Good news. (Special thanks to Wei Huang and Thomas Woller) With images create with qemu-img and memory as high as 1912 (sorry I did not try lower numbers.. in between), I could get the installation through. But all this does not happen in one shot for me. a. First vm, formats and then hangs at checking harddisk stage. Then keeps on complaining, that I do not have corrrect cd rom in the drive! b. Next invocation, now allows me to use formatted disk in the first run. Then the file installation continues. c. A boot after instllation and option changed to boot from disk, it hung at initial stage. d. Another invocation, got it to run the post instllation setup goes through Hurray... :) So this good but NOT CONSISTENT !!! ======== With LVM volume as disk ===================== a. First time hang on the first screen. (Only "Windows Setup" with underline displayed). Dies after few min. Hard error in some dll. b. second time, till formatting. But error while formatting. Complains about Insert CD, (repeatedly) c. third time hung again on the first screen (Only "Windows Setup" with underline displayed"). Dies after few min. Hard error in some dll. d. Fourth time, went till formatting.. error formatting. (Unable to fromat partition..) e. Fifth time : Tried with smalled LVM 4G, formatting shows 100%.. waits for few min.. gives error. "Setup was unable to format partition..." f. Lost patience. /Jd --- jdsw <jdsw2002@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > ok.. > Good news : If I create disk image with qemu-img, I > go > to the next screen. > > Not so Good News: > But now windows installer is complaining about "Can > not format disk, disk may be damaged." for all the > four formatting options. > > I also, tried creating mkdosfs in the img file, but > that also did not help. > > Bottom line : still stuck. > > /Jd > > > --- jdsw <jdsw2002@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > > Hey...
