This takes a domid, so if you're getting /local/domain/0 out, then you almost certainly are putting 0 in. If you want to read /local/domain/N/something from domain N, then you can just do xs_read("something"), as each domain has an implicit prefix of /local/domain/N if they read using relative paths.
