 RE: [Xen-devel] unable to install vmx domain from iso or cdrom

 fyi, with c/s 13161 i have been able to boot some HVM
guests on AMD-V and VT, although some problems booting windows on VT.
simple boot testing of 32bit guests only -   AMD-V 64b hv:  32bit SUSE10 boots, 32bit Winxpsp2 (memory = 4Gig)
boots, 32bit win2003ServerEE (13Gig) boots   VT 32bit hv:  32bit SUSE10 boots, unable to
boot 32bit Winxpsp2 or win2003server (512meg memory) - not
sure reason.  when failing loads the last driver mup.sys, then hangs,
although looks like vmrun/exit loop is running.   have not tried any hvm guest
installs..    -- Tom

  Probably the same issue as Thomas Woller reported.
  Looks like at least some non-network boot devices were broken by a checkin to
  add support for network boot devices.

 Subject:
    [Xen-devel] unable to install vmx domain from iso or
    cdrom

 I’m running with changeset
    13110:f58b0c778b90 and I cannot install a vmx windows domain.  I’ve
    tried using the physical media and also an iso.

 Here is the
    config used when attempting to boot from iso:

 import os,
    re
 arch = os.uname()[4]
 if re.search('64',
    arch):
 arch_libdir =
    'lib64'
 else:
 arch_libdir = 'lib'
 kernel =
    "/usr/lib/xen/boot/hvmloader"
 builder='hvm'
 memory = 2048
 name =
    "win2003std-smp"
 vcpus=4
 vif = [ 'type=ioemu, bridge=xenbr0' ]
 disk
    = [ 'file:/mnt/xenlsg/xenimages/domvt/win2003std-smp.vmg,hda,w' ,
    'file:/home/unisys/win2003std.ISO,hdc:cdrom,r' ]
 device_model = '/usr/' +
    arch_libdir +
    '/xen/bin/qemu-dm'
 boot='d'
 sdl=1
 vnc=0
 vncviewer=0
 stdvga=0
 serial='pty'

 Any
    help would be appreciated.
