There's some useful reading here, starting from the original Xen paper: http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/research/srg/netos/xen/architecture.html For in depth undestanding, I'd recommend "Xen and the Art of Virtualization" (the original Xen paper, describing the Xen 1.x architecture) and "Safe Hardware Access with the Xen Virtual Machine Monitor" (describing the back / front IO model now used). If you want to understand live migration then "Live Migration of Virtual Machines" is also worth a read. Some of the overviews / presentations could be useful for getting a summary. There are also some summaries of how bits of Xen work in various articles over the web (Google is your friend) and in the mailing list archives. You can also ask questions about implementation on this mailing list. Hope that helps, Cheers, Mark -- Dave: Just a question. What use is a unicyle with no seat? And no pedals! Mark: To answer a question with a question: What use is a skateboard? Dave: Skateboards have wheels. Mark: My wheel has a wheel! _______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list Xen-devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://lists.xensource.com/xen-devel
