Hi, Keir,
   Xen doesn't check the existence of serial ports before using in the
current version. This brings some problems, e.g., we will get a zero
value when reading a non-existent register, if this value is used as a
divider later the system will crash. We found some machines without
serial port will fail to do S3 because of this issue. The attached patch
fixed this problem.
