Hrm, yes, I have reproduced this.  If you `make dist' or `make', it
works.  I'm looking into it.  The problem is in the rather fragile
machinery for finding the kernel, which I had to edit by hand due to a
last-minute decision to include the Linux kernel tree inside the Xen
release tarball.

In the meantime I will prepare a traditional separate Xen and kernel
.tar.gzs and put them up alongside the (slightly broken) integrated
one.
