This isn't an unreasonable request though.  VMware does
provide a parameter like this.  It's essentially syntactic
sugar but if it avoids confusing customers, it might be
worthwhile to implement this with the default multiplier being
the native frequency of the host machine so the OS-reported
processor frequency displays correctly.  The downside is
of course is that the extra multiply would need to be
done on every emulated TSC (unless maybe it could be folded
into the other required scaling?)
