Dear all,

just did a very quick test. Xen 4.0-rc4 on amd64, all PV DomU setup. One of my DomUs uses the

onboard forcedeth NIC thru PCI passthrough.

NIC is not usable out of the box any longer, it complains that MAC is wrong and it will set up a random

MAC instead.

This issue was very common also in non-Xen environments some time ago. Some workarounds where

to set a fixed MAC with UDEV via a rule with something like DRIVER=forcedeth.

But: it works with Xen 3.4.1 out of the box, with Xen 4.0-rc4, it does not. Dom0/DomU kernels not

changed, they are at 2.6.18.8 at time of 3.4.1.

Does this already provide enough information to know what’s going wrong?

BR,

Carsten.
