Yes.
I can load 2.6.32.9 ( been built via xen/stable just now) under then most recent Xen 4.0 (matching tip CS Xen's rpms have been rebuilt and reinstalled on F12 following Michael Young ) via clone of original xen-unstable tree patched per Steffano :-

Yes, that should work.  There's no need for dom0 to have either Stefano's or Sheng's patches.
