I think the if statement should be:
 if ((vmcb->general1_intercepts & GENERAL1_INTERCEPT_IRET) &&
     (intack.source == hvm_intsrc_nmi))
     return;

Which I think deals properly and specifically with this hang problem.

What do you think?
