In HVM guests you should really run whatever is the default kernel in the distro you install there?
These kernel's are (mainly) meant for PV guests, aka dom0 and PV domU.

Isn't the idea behind the pvops kernel is that you don't need a different kernel version for every application?
Or is the hvm guest the one exception to the run-anywhere applicability of the pvops kernel?

This is for an ubuntu based embedded system so I'd like to be able to use the same kernel for dom0 and domU.
We will eventually transition to a pv domU, but currently our pci drivers don't work in a pv environment so right now I need an hvm domU.

Thanks for your help Pasi.

latest 2.6.32.15 (as of yesterday) works for me.

I used xen 4.0.1-rc3-pre as of yesterday.
