[Xen-devel] problem with online storage add - device stuck in state 3 until reboot

Hi all,
I'm having trouble online adding storage to my domU's. running Debian Lenny 2.6.26-2-xen-amd64 xen-utils-3.2-1. After I xm block-attach a new LV device I go into the domU and fdisk -l doesn't show the new device until after I have rebooted the domU.

Here is what I see in the xend.log:
[2010-10-28 17:52:06 3789] DEBUG (XendDomainInfo:526) XendDomainInfo.device_create: ['vbd', ['uname', '/dev/rootvg/test-test1'], ['dev', 'sda6'], ['mode', 'w']]

[2010-10-28 17:52:06 3789] DEBUG (DevController:609) hotplugStatusCallback 1.

And when I check xm block-list for the device I see it in state 3, which is initialized according to http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/XenStoreReference
Vdev  BE handle state evt-ch ring-ref BE-path
2054    0    0     3      23     11    /local/domain/0/backend/vbd/42/2054

Can anyone help me figure out why this is and how to fix it so the device is fully connected?

Thanks in advance,
Todd
