Do you mean, that remus used to work earlier in your system ?

Are you using xen-4.0-testing tree? or the tarball from xensource?
Either way, the most common issue I have encountered is an error in Xend.log
"Failed to pin batch of .. pagetables"

If that is the case, you need to apply the patch from the current
xen-unstable tree
(alternatively available in xen-4.1-testing tree)
