Re: [Xen-devel] Re : Teo En Ming's Xen, Linux Kernel, and Xen VGA Passthrough Documentation (Xen Documentation Day)
Dear David Techer,
I noticed that there are FOUR memory ranges for the VGA card to be
passed through.
lspci | grep VGA
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation GT218 [GeForce
8400 GS] (rev a2)
dmesg | grep 01:00.0 | grep "pci.*mem"
[0.120488] pci 0000:01:00.0: reg 10: [mem 0xd2000000-0xd2ffffff]
[0.120508] pci 0000:01:00.0: reg 14: [mem 0xc0000000-0xcfffffff
64bit pref]
[0.120528] pci 0000:01:00.0: reg 1c: [mem 0xd0000000-0xd1ffffff
64bit pref]
[0.120556] pci 0000:01:00.0: reg 30: [mem 0xd3000000-0xd307ffff
pref]
Why do you use only the first three memory ranges? How
about the last (i.e. the fourth) memory range?
Is there a mistake in your method or blog? This is because I have
realized now that my Xen VGA Passthrough is only partially
successful. I can run 2D graphics benchmarks, but NOT 3D graphics
benchmarks.
Please check out my Youtube video. Device Manager says that Windows
8 and XP has stopped the VGA card because it has a problem. Device
manager also says that the VGA card is not using any resources
because it has a problem. There is a yellow exclamation mark besides
NVIDIA Geforce 8400 GS.
Thank you very much.
Yours sincerely,
Teo En Ming (Zhang Enming)

Dear David Techer,
The command I use checks out the latest changeset, so it is not
necessary to use "hg clone -r CHANGESET".
Thank you very much.

For mercurial you forgot to add the flag (-r ) from
