In general it is not necessary or desirable to repost patches which
have already been applied :-). (But it's largely harmless.)

I have applied these two, thanks.
I added what I think are suitable .hgignore and .gitignore entries for
the results of the new test script. Next time it would be helpful if
you were to do that.
