I don't feel the same, but I understand the concern.

I think we have two options here:
 1. we just do nothing;
 2. you send a patch that, according to your best judgement, improve 
    things (as we all do all the time! :-P).

Me too, and in fact, I'm not changing it, but I won't stop you tryingto
